How Is Chronic Lyme Disease Typically Treated
Once a person is diagnosed with Lyme disease, medical doctors treat the symptoms with antibiotics for two to four weeks. However, it is well-known within the medical community that antibiotics will only kill up to 85% of any targeted bacteria, leaving the remaining 15% mutated and antibiotic resistant. These antibiotic resistant bacteria may be responsible for persistent symptoms lasting many years, and are potentially more destructive than the original strain of bacteria.
Lyme disease patients present conventional medical doctors with more of a challenge, since antibiotics are the conventional doctors only solution. No one treatment method has been found to be successful for the vast majority of patients. Cure is often arbitrarily claimed after a set duration of antibiotics, whether or not the patients symptoms are actually gone, leaving many patients to wonder why they are not feeling better or often why they are feeling much worse. According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, continued use of antibiotic treatment after the initial four weeks can cause even further complications.

What Are The Symptoms Of Chronic Lyme Disease
Lyme disease does not affect any two people in the exact same way. Even when a person is living a seemingly symptom-free, healthy life, there are always underlying issues and weaknesses that are made worse by physical and emotional challenges in life. These weaknesses are what dictate which symptoms are manifested in each unique patients body. Some patients may experience one severe symptom, while others may experience over fifty major symptoms, even when both groups test highly positive for LD on blood tests.

Dr. Charles Bizilj opened Antero in 2018 to focus on treating patients with Lyme Disease as well as other tick-borne illnesses.
According to Dr. Bizilj, most people have heard of Lyme disease, but cannot speak to the complexities of diagnosis and treatment. More importantly, many people are unaware of the number of diseases transmitted by ticks. It is quite unusual to find a patient that is infected solely with Borrelia . More commonly patients have 2, 3 or even more infections concurrently. Many studies have shown that over 20 diseases can be transmitted by Ixodes ticks, and by numerous other tick species.
Similarly, many community members are unaware of symptoms associated with these tickborne illnesses. A circular rash and joint pain was often a requisite for considering that a tickborne illness was present. Recent studies have changed that paradigm. Some patients present with nothing more than fatigue others report vertigo or bladder dysfunction.
Research is finally catching up to this complex arena in medicine. Simply administering antibiotics is no longer acceptable. The patients immune system needs to be considered. What Happens After I Am Treated
Following your initial multi-week Biologix Treatment Program, your Biologix doctor will recommend an at-home treatment program to continue your healing process. This may include the use of therapeutic devices that may enhance the speed of your healing at home. While you are at home, we will continue to track your progress by scheduling follow-up communication with you. If you find you are not healing as well as we had hoped, your doctor can make strategic recommendations to your at-home protocol or advise you on next steps.
Your doctor may recommend that you return to the Biologix Center 2 to 3 months after your initial visit. Length of stay will depend on how you are progressing and how many issues still need to be addressed, but it is typically no more than 3 to 5 days. Please find the returning patient package pricing in your Patient Info Packet as well.
Again, it has taken your body some time to get sick. We do not expect to find your best path to healing overnight. However, we can promise that we will never give up on you or your symptoms and that we will work to solve your case together. Never give up hope!

What Does All
Because of the nature of chronic illness, we have found that a comprehensive assessment and treatment of every single symptom and issue is critical. The Biologix approach is tailored to each individual, in an all-inclusive package of care that allows your doctor to do everything required to heal your body, without worrying you with the cost of each individual test and treatment.
We offer Biologix programs ranging from two week to three weeks long. Your length of stay will depend on both the severity of your symptoms and your personal schedule. We do, however, require that our patients visit for at least one week so that we have enough time to learn your body and discover how best to begin its healing.
For international patients or severely ill patients, we require a two-week program. Three and four-week programs are also available for those that need them.
