Biebers diagnosis may also explain why his upcoming album kept getting delayed, as its hard to go on a national tour and promote new music while battling a mystery illness that makes you constantly feel awful. While the singer recently dropped the new single Yummy, hes been dropping hints that new music was just around the corner since last year.

Back in October, the 25-year-old newly married man to model Hailey Bieber shared a since-deleted post on Instagram that read, If this gets 20 million likes, Justin Bieber will release a new album before Christmas. In November, Bieber was spotted in Miami trolling himself by wearing a shirt that read, Drop the album already, according to TMZ.

The Bacterium That Causes Lyme Disease Is Difficult To Detect In The Bloodstream So Doctors Often Have To Rely On Symptoms

Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium that causes Lyme, is hard to detect in the bloodstream, meaning there are very little ways to prove someone does or doesn’t have Lyme, beyond matching the symptoms they report to Lyme disease symptoms.

That seems to be what at least one of Bieber’s doctors did.

“Lyme disease is the fastest growing bacterial infection in the United States right now,” Lehman, one of the many medical professionals attending to Bieber, said in the documentary. “We know it can cause a whole spectrum of neuropsychiatric symptoms mood changes, irritability, anxiety. Justin fits the picture of these symptoms.”

How To Help Prevent Lyme Disease

Justin Bieber Diagnosed With Lyme Disease

Marc Potzler, Board Certified Entomologist for Ehrlich Pest Control gives the following tips for helping prevent Lyme disease.

  • “Dress smartly: If you are going to be outside for an extended period of time, consider wearing long pants, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes. If you are hiking or in wooded areas, tuck your pants into your socks to prevent ticks from crawling up your pant legs.
  • Insect Repellent: Use an EPA-registered insect repellent while you are outside. We recommend repellent containing at least 20% DEET.
  • Stay away from thick vegetation: Try to stay away from thick vegetation. Stay in the center of hiking trails and keep your pets from rubbing against brush.
  • Lighten up: Light-colored clothing makes it easier to spot ticks.
  • Daily Inspections: When coming in from the outdoors, inspect yourself, your family and your pets for ticks.
  • Keep your yard tidy: Remove weeds and cut grass low. Ticks love to hide in vegetation.
  • Regular Vet appointments: Maintain routine check-ups for your pets and ask your veterinarian about tick prevention.
  • Frequent Groomings: Keep your pets safe by maintaining frequent groomings to keep their fur tidy, which makes it easier to spot ticks.
  • Professional treatment: Contact a pest management professional to get a tick treatment for your yard. The professional treatment will target the tick harborage spots in your yard.

There’s Been An Uptick In Reported Lyme Disease Cases

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which says 30,000 cases of Lyme disease are reported annually, the disease is transmitted through the bite of an infected tick. They’re often found in hard-to-see areas like the groin, armpits, and scalp, the CDC reports.

A nymph tick is the size of a poppyseed, making it even harder for people to find them. The tick must be attached for 36 to 48 hours before the Lyme disease can be transmitted.

In recent years, there’s been an uptick in the number of Lyme disease cases reported, and the geographic range of some ticks seems to be increasing, reported the CDC. More and more areas in the northeastern and upper midwestern United States are now considered high-risk for this bacterial infection.

For 80% of people, a rash that looks like a bull’s-eye will appearthree to 30 days after the tick bite. This is often what doctors use to detect Lyme disease in its early stages. Other symptoms are flu-like, including fever and muscle pain.

If Lyme disease is detected early, it can be treated with oral or intravenous antibiotics, the only proven treatment, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Still, about 10 to 20% of people who are treated with antibiotics will have symptoms that persist after they complete treatment, according to the New England Journal of Medicine. And on top of that, doctors aren’t exactly sure why some people don’t recover, Insider previously reported.

He didnt actually type the word bleep but instead used a word that rhymes with hit.

It wouldnt be too surprising to look like bleep if you have Lyme disease. Just having Lyme Disease by itself is tough enough. Its a serious disease that can be quite bewildering. It all starts with a blacklegged tick otherwise known as the deer tick, Ixodes scapularis. Ticks bite and suck, both literally and figuratively. They can quietly suck, too. You may not even notice that one of these tiny vampires has latched on to your skin unless you check your skin for ticks after walking through the woods, the park, or some other area with vegetation.
