Imagine the power needed to send a radio signal over the air and what would happen if doing so produced mechanical resonance within the cells of the body.
If the Rife machines mechanism of action actually was effective, wed cure cancer when we tune to the classic rock station. More likely, if it did work, wed have LOTS of cancer!
Of course the rife doesnt work. The companies do not offer any evidence. If you click on their positive clinical results it is not clinical research, but a story about the man who invented the machine.
Why Are Antibiotics The First Line Of Treatment For Lyme Disease
The use of antibiotics is critical for treating Lyme disease. Without antibiotic treatment, the Lyme disease causing bacteria can evade the host immune system, disseminate through the blood stream, and persist in the body. Antibiotics go into the bacteria preferentially and either stop the multiplication of the bacteria or disrupt the cell wall of the bacteria and kill the bacteria . By stopping the growth or killing the bacteria the human host immune response is given a leg up to eradicate the residual infection. Without antibiotics, the infection in Lyme disease can evade the host immune system and more readily persist.

Azlocillin Comes Out On Top
The drug, which is not on the market, was tested in mouse models of Lyme disease at seven-day, 14-day and 21-day intervals and found to eliminate the infection. For the first time, azlocillin was also shown to be effective in killing drug-tolerant forms of B. burgdorferi in lab dishes, indicating that it may work as a therapy for lingering symptoms of Lyme disease.
Pothineni and Rajadas have patented the compound for the treatment of Lyme disease and are working with a company to develop an oral form of the drug. Researchers plan to conduct a clinical trial.
Rajadas is also a professor of bioengineering and therapeutic sciences at the University of California-San Francisco.

An erythema migrans-like rash has also been described in humans following bites of the lone star tick. This condition has been named Southern Tick-Associated Rash Illness . What Is A Rife Machine And Is It Helpful
Rife machines were invented in 1920s by Royal Raymond Rife. They deliver low electromagnetic waves, like radio waves, through the hands or feet. The suggestion is that all medical conditions have an electromagnetic frequency, and that this machine will deliver pulses at the same frequency, to disable diseased cells.
Rife machines have not been scientifically proved to treat Lyme Disease or any other disease. These days, when new treatments are available for use by doctors, they have been rigorously tested to show they work, and they cause minimal harm. Rife machines have not been tested in this way. Reports that these machines are effective for Lyme disease are anecdotal and are not backed up by scientific studies.
Prevention Of Tick Bites
The best currently available method for preventing infection with B. burgdorferi and other Ixodes-transmitted infections is to avoid tick-infested areas . If exposure to I. scapularis or I. pacificus ticks is unavoidable, a number of measures may help to decrease the risk that ticks will attach and subsequently transmit infection. The use of protective clothing may interfere with attachment by ticks by increasing the time required for ticks to find exposed skin, thus facilitating their recognition and removal. By wearing light-colored clothing , persons in areas of endemicity may also be more likely to see ticks before they have attached.
Daily inspections of the entire body to locate ticks also provide an opportunity to prevent transmission of tick-borne infections . Attached ticks should be removed promptly with fine-toothed forceps, if possible . Tick and insect repellents applied to the skin and clothing provide additional protection .

Antibody And Western Blot Tests
Diagnosis typically includes testing for antibodies your body has made in response to Lyme bacteria. If antibiotic treatment is started early, the body may never develop antibodies. Somewhere between a few days and six weeks after a tick bite, blood tests called ELISA, EIA, and IFA can pick up antibodies: The IgM type of antibody is made first and then the IgG type. Antibodies can stick around for months or years, though, so they dont tell you much about when you were infected or whether you are still infected. And unfortunately, the antibodies wont protect you if you get another bite from a borrelia-carrying tick in the future .
Antibody tests are not infallible, and they may come up with both false positive and false negative results. If an antibody test result is positive, standard practice is to do a Western blot or immunoblot test to rule out a false positive result and be more certain that borrelia bacteria are present. The antibody test followed by the Western blot is called a standard two-tiered test .
There appear to be two ways to get better results by stage 2 that are not yet standard practice. One is to do two EIA tests, and the other is to use a test called VlsE or C6. Based on research in children with clinical symptoms of Lyme disease, researchers have suggested that when the STTT is negative but children have Lyme symptoms, additional tests should be carried out .

How Lyme Disease Is Diagnosed
One thing that makes Lyme disease so frustrating is that its diagnosis is not simple. You may be asked if you saw a tick, and if not, your concerns may be dismissed. On the other hand, if you saw a tick and removed it right away, your concerns may also be dismissed because many experts believe the tick has to remain attached for at least thirty-six hours to transmit the bacteria. But if a tick has already partially fed elsewhere, it may be able to infect you in less than thirty-six hours . Be aware that there are other tick-borne diseases, and some can be transmitted in as little as fifteen minutes, as discussed in the conventional treatments section of this article.

Autoimmune Diseases With Symptoms Similar To Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is known to make other autoimmune conditions notoriously tricky to diagnose. The most common autoimmune disorder seen in patients with Lyme disease is rheumatoid arthritis .
Patients who suffer from chronic Lyme disease can have the exact symptoms of RA, i.e., joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation of the joints, even without actually testing positive for RA.
