Explant Surgery An Estimated $10000

Yolanda Hadid Opens Up About How Lyme Disease Nearly Destroyed Her | PeopleTV

Thanks to full-body scans in 2015, Yolanda discovered that a burst breast implant was leaking free-floating silicone throughout her body. So she had her two existing implants, plus the silicone that had moved through her body, removed in whats called explant surgery. The procedure, with Cleveland-based, board-certified reconstructive surgeon Dr. Lu-Jean Feng, starts at $8,250, plus hospital fees, and increases based on existing complications such as ruptures, as in Yolandas case. She credits the silicone removal with kick-starting her current remission.

Yolanda Hadid Undergoes Surgery For ‘last Chapter’ Of Lyme Disease Treatment: ‘remission In Sight’

Yolanda Hadid is still battling Lyme disease, but the end could be near.

Yolanda Hadid isnt giving up in her fight against Lyme disease. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 52, took to Instagram Tuesday to announce she had undergone surgery as she neared the end of her treatment. I am seeking, I am striving and I am in it to win it with all of my heart, she captioned a picture of herself recovering in a hospital bed with two friends at her side. #LymeDiseaseAwareness #TvamSurgery #LastChapter #SearchingForACure #RemissionInSight. Hadid, who was diagnosed in 2012, underwent the TVAM procedure, in which a catheter is inserted into the jugular vein. A balloon is inflated so it stretch the vein, in doing so transferring energy to the nerve fibers along the outside of the vein. The treatment aims to relieve patients of Lyme disease symptoms, including fatigue, cognitive function, energy levels, bladder and bowel function. The surgery came a few days after Hadid revealed she had consulted with Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, lead clinician at the Sophia Health Institute in Woodinville, Wash., and the founder and chairman of the Institute for Neurobiology in Germany and Switzerland. Homebound with a grateful heart, Hadid wrote on Instagram Friday. Thank you Dr. Klinghardt for bringing me to and shining light on the finishing line of my health journey. Don’t Miss: Lyme Disease And Swollen Lymph Nodes

Could You Tell Us A Bit About Your Diagnosis And Symptoms

I used to be a multitasking, single mother-of-three and social butterfly who, slowly, started to lose her magical powers. My symptoms included severe fatigue, brain fog, memory loss, difficulty with word retrieval, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, joint pain, muscle weakness, intolerance to bright light, flu-like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes, and slight Bells palsy in my face all of which left me feeling depressed.

My body sent me early warning signs, but my type-A personality didnt leave me much room to be vulnerable with myself. I fought tooth and nail to keep things together in front of my family and friends, but as things got progressively worse, there was no hiding from the truth anymore. I was eventually diagnosed by a doctor in Belgium.

A Disturbing Array Of Treatments

Yolanda Hadid made her own poop âlabâ to treat her Lyme disease

Hadid created a large display of treatments she said she tried. This display is transcribed in the table below. She divided the treatments between conventional and alternative. However, it is still quackery if a drug is FDA-approved but used in an inappropriate manner.

The CDC has been warning the public about the dangers of long term antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease:

Studies funded by the National Institutes of Health External have not shown that people who received prolonged courses of antibiotics do better in the long run than people treated with placebo. Furthermore, long-term antibiotic or alternative treatments for Lyme disease have been associated with serious complications.

More specifically regarding alternative, non-antibiotic treatments, the CDC warns:

Antibiotics are the only known effective treatment for Lyme disease, but a quick search on the internet will introduce you to other untested remedies that claim to cure Lyme disease or chronic Lyme disease. These productsavailable online or from some health care providersmay be dangerous, deadly, or simply a waste of money.

Nevertheless, according to US Weekly, ex-husband David Foster shelled out nearly $5 million on Yolandas treatments. The LymeScience herbs and supplements page explains why many of these treatments were unlikely to help.

Conventional
Fulvic AcidZeolite

There are many other treatments Hadid tried that are not listed above, for example detox foot baths.

Paracelsus Clinic In Switzerland About $30000 To $45000

Both Yolanda and then-husband David Foster flew to the Paracelsus Clinic in Lustmühle, Switzerland for treatments in September 2013 three weeks of Lyme-focused procedures for her, and a week of general upkeep for him. She received IV infusions, ozone therapy thought to activate the immune system and a form of acupuncture called neural therapy. She also underwent hyperthermia, spending several hours in a chamber that heated her body to 103 degrees. The heat is supposed to kill viruses and bacteria, although the treatment has only been studied in cancer patients, not those who suffer from Lyme.

The bottom line is that Paracelsus wasnt a magic bullet for me, and Im learning that even the best clinics in the world cannot cure chronic Lyme, she writes. There is little magic in the world of the chronically ill.

Hadid Initially Ignored Her Bodys Warnings

From the age of 7, when she lost her father in a car accident, Hadid, now 53, learned to view stoicism as strength. She carried that into adulthood, so when she started struggling with word retrieval and recall, she made excuses.

Dark circles began appearing under her eyes. Then came migraines and hair loss, which she hid with extensions. After a year of fighting brain fog, blurry vision, fatigue, joint pain, anxiety and insomnia, Hadid saw an internist. Another year marked by misdiagnoses, emergency visits and a car accident caused by Hadids loss of depth perception followed before she was diagnosed in 2012.

Yolanda Hadid Opens Up About Her Lyme Disease Diagnosis

Yolanda Foster has faced some backlash from a few of her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars, who claim that she’s not been completely truthful about her and her children’s battle with Lyme disease.

On Tuesday’s RHOBH, Lisa Vanderpump alleged that Foster’s ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, denied “any of his children” suffer from the illness, even though Foster has said Bella and Anwar Hadid have been diagnosed. After the episode aired, the 67-year-old real estate developer gave a statement to Watch What Happens Live that was read aloud by host Andy Cohen.

“I do not wish to make public my family’s private matters, but I would like to make it clear that I completely and unequivocally support my children and their mother. I can only imagine that my response to a question asking how my kids are doing with ‘fine’ was misconstrue,” Hadid said in a full statement, which was posted to Instagram. “I have too much respect for all five of my children to speak about them publicly in a restaurant or otherwise. I will not speak further on something that should now be put to rest.”

Transvascular autonomic modulation, called TVAM, is meant to increase blood flow in patients with nervous system conditions by widening veins with a small inflated balloon, although the FDA warned in a statement this spring that theres no evidence the surgery is either safe or effective. The FDA cautions that the treatment can lead to burst veins, blood clots, brain damage and even death, and singled out Yolandas doctor, Dr. Michael Arata, as promoting its benefits without any proof. Aratas office tells The Post that he no longer performs the surgery, which Yolanda underwent in July 2016.

The Lifeworks Lyme Disease Treatment Protocol

At LifeWorks Wellness Center, we approach Lyme disease from the inside out using an alternative treatment protocol. Antibiotics, especially if used for a long period of time, create an imbalance in the gut. The good bacteria that defend the digestive system are killed off by antibiotics and this leaves your immune system open for a resurgence of Lyme and other infections.

With ozone therapy, supercharged oxygen is administered via Biophoton Therapy & UVBI treatment. By oxygenating the blood, you are giving your body the armor it needs to fight off the bacteria holistically. Low oxygen levels are repeatedly tied to chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, and even cancer.

Read Yolanda Fosters Testimonial About Her Experience At Sponaugle Wellness

My girlfriend Suzanne Somers told me about The Spounagle Wellness Institute because the Doctor had cured her grand daughter Violet from Lyme disease.

The truth is, no matter how sick you are, nobody is ready to pack up and leave their family behind to go to Clearwater, Florida. The same happened to me until my son Anwar reminded me that even though I had been home in bed for the past 6 months, I wasnt really participating in life. I had become the shell of the woman I use to be and spent my days starring at the ceiling.

I went from a hard working, multi-tasking social butterfly to living in a mentally paralyzed cocoon. I was not able to read, process information, write or do something as simple as watch t.v.

90 days of multiple Intravenous antibiotics did me more harm then good, my body was a toxic waste dump and I had yeast coming out of every part of my body.

Originally I committed to spending 3 weeks at The Institute in Florida until I realized what an incredible progress I was making and finally gladly stayed for 6.

Obviously it would not be fair to expect to be cured from Chronic Lyme disease in 6 weeks after years of suffering but I am definitely feeling 80% better and am looking forward to continuing my health journey at home while hopefully participating in the normal things in life.

Dealing With A Chronic Lyme Disease Infection

When and if Lyme sufferers are finally diagnosed, they are directed to take antibiotics every day for at least two to four weeks. If diagnosed very early on, antibiotics can be effective and rid the body of the bacterial infection. But, in reality, most patients are diagnosed years after initial infection and they are suffering from a spectrum of symptoms due to the pervasiveness of the infection and affect it has on other bodily systems. In these cases, it usually takes antibiotics plus a comprehensive Lyme Disease treatment regimen to relieve the symptoms of Lyme disease.
