East Lyme Special Town Meeting Scheduled For Wednesday
East Lyme A special town meeting will be held Wednesday on a proposal to spend $67,392 in federal COVID-19 relief funds on a Town Hall employee timekeeping system.
The vote is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room.
Officials said the NOVAtime system by Andrews Technology will provide a needed upgrade to the way employees hours and days off are tracked at Town Hall. Selectmen last month discussed the need to replace outdated equipment like the time-punch machine employees use to clock in and out and the three-part carbon paper still used for leave requests.
According to finance board meeting minutes, the annual maintenance cost will be $25,822.
The appropriation was approved by selectmen and the Board of Finance last month.
The town has roughly $3.8 million in American Rescue Plan money remaining out of $5.46 million it was allocated. Under former First Selectman Mark Nickerson, it allocated the first $1.6 million on what were identified as immediate needs.
